I understand people want this functionality, but the way it was working in the app just isn't acceptable in my opinion. We were funneling a ton of people to this screen with a big banner right after they installed the app. The importer looks like was written 7 years ago. If you somehow managed to import twice, you'd get duplicates of all of your messages. It did not import MMS messages (so no pictures or group conversations). The SMS import was only partially functional. They disabled the SMS import function so it can be rewritten later:
